Shall Not Be Infringed!

Shall Not Be Infringed!

Shall Not Be Infringed; what do these words mean to you?

After decades of infringement on the inherent rights of the people to practice self defense (from tyrants and criminals) in the manner they see fit, in their ever changing and unique circumstances, where does that leave the last four words of the Second Amendment?

An onslaught of gun laws are poised like an avalanche of infringement just on the brink of breaking forth and decimating all of our constitutionally protected rights in their path. What are we doing to stop it? What are we doing to prepare the citizens in its path?

Our fight at the Federal level will be taking place in the courts as the current legislative and executive branches are not friendly to individual liberty at this time.

That leaves us with our state and local governments to focus our attention and efforts on.

If you are not being represented in your district, start running for office now. Support those who support your rights. Show up to town halls, county commission meetings, school board meetings, hearings, legislative votes, provide testimonials, be a presence, and speak your mind.

Your work is just beginning. You can either sit back and complain that your rights are being infringed, or you can get about the business of exercising your other rights in order to defend your Second.

No organization can do this for you. You can no longer simply pay your annual dues and wait for the work to be done. You, yourself, must get involved. You must have calm and educational conversations with people you know who aren’t necessarily in the “gun community.” The days of lazy keyboard advocacy are over. Start where you are with what you have. Build relationships, get involved in your community, be the change. What does, Shall Not Be Infringed mean to you? And, what are you doing about it?
