I'm having a difficult time forming my thoughts into sentences regarding the blatant terrorist attack on American soil resulting in the murder of four US Marines and the injury of another yesterday.
There are many things that I'd like to say. Many things I'd love to make people understand about disarming those who have given their lives as a blank check to protect us from all enemies foreign and domestic. There is an evil that has infiltrated and infected our country, which in the name of "tolerance" we have conceded to through political correctness and turning a blind eye. There are countless people, groups, organizations, and legislation that hold partial blame for this tragedy and all like it.
However, at this moment my heart is too busy grieving for this substantial and senseless loss. My prayers are with these Marines, their families, friends, their brothers and sisters in the military, and our nation as a whole.
The United States Marine Corps holds a special place in my heart as my three favorite Marines I also call Nephew. As their aunt I have prepared myself (as much as anyone can) that there may come a time where I received the dreaded call that they have given their life in defense of their countrymen. However, the knowledge that once again our brave warriors were slaughtered in cold blood in their homeland is overwhelming.
These men and women selflessly and knowingly take it upon themselves to risk their lives to protect us, as a nation, and how have we repaid them? We have stripped them of their most basic and fundamental (Second Amendment protected) right to protect themselves. It is a travesty and we should be ashamed of ourselves as a nation for allowing this happen.
