You name it, and I've seen it. Paints and dips galore. From camo inspired to Hello Kitty. Whatever it is that is your personal style, you can find a firearm to match.
I know many women who prefer a pretty gun. And, what is wrong with that? If they chose to carry a gun that is every color of the rainbow, who cares? It's their firearm, they can paint it any color they wish.
There are many people in the firearms culture who bemoan the colorful gun trend. "It's just not right," they say. "It's not functional. It's not concealable." Quite frankly, it's none of their business. Just as we all have our favorite brands, our custom grips sights, scopes, stocks, shrouds, and slings, we also have an ever increasing array of colors to pick from.
We will always have traditionalists who believe that all firearms should be wood stocked, black or gun metal grey, and that's okay too. That's the beauty of the colorful gun trend. No matter what your personal preference, there is a gun for you. However, there is now an extensive pallette to choose from and if colorful guns are going to draw more women to the world of firearm ownership, then I believe we can all agree that is a very good thing.
Not only for the firearms industry, but for educating and empowering more people on their Second Amendment protected, unalienable right, to protect and defend themselves. I, myself, am partial to a matte black, easily concealable, sidearm. But, those candy colored options sure are pretty and they fire just the same.
So, next time you see a case full of colorful guns, don't be so quick to judge. Perhaps, even ask to test one out. Betcha it will shoot just as good as any other of a different color.
